Community rules

How posting works

Sign up for free, confirm your email, and share a photo of what you're growing. A few simple rules keep it useful for everyone.

Read the terms of use
  • Real photos of your own plants

Share what you're growing yourself. Photos taken from the internet or of someone else's garden aren't allowed.

  • Every photo is checked

Photos are checked before everyone can see them, and location and camera details are removed from the file.

  • Be kind and helpful

Answer questions the way you'd like yours answered. Harassment, hate and spam are removed.

  • No selling in posts

Posts are for growing. Seed listings will get their own place on SeedBattle later.

Questions

Questions about the community

Who can post in the community?
Anyone with a free SeedBattle account. Confirm your email address first, then share a growth update, a harvest, a tip or a question from the Share your grow page.
What should I post?
Photos and notes about plants you're growing yourself: the day you sow, the first sprout, how tall it is now, what went wrong and what you harvested. Questions and tips are welcome too.
Are photos checked?
Yes. Each photo is checked before everyone can see it, and anything unclear waits for a moderator. Location and camera details are removed from every photo when it's uploaded.
Can I keep a post to myself?
Yes. Choose "Only me" when you post. Private posts never appear in the feed, on your profile, in search or in any count, and you can still see them yourself.
What are Battles?
Growing competitions with set dates. You join, sow, and post a photo entry each week. Judges rank entries against the criteria published on each Battle's page, not by likes.
How do I report a post or comment?
Use the Report button on the post or next to the comment and pick a reason. A moderator reviews every report and removes anything that breaks the rules.
