These terms apply to everyone who uses SeedBattle (seedbattle.com). By using the site, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use SeedBattle. SeedBattle is run by Shah Fahad.
1. Using SeedBattle
SeedBattle is free. You can read the encyclopedia without an account; an account lets you keep a profile, post in the community, enter Battles and use the AI assistant.
2. Your account
- Give accurate information, and keep your password to yourself.
- One person per account. You’re responsible for what happens under your account.
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- Tell us at hello@seedbattle.com if you think someone else is using your account.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. You can delete your account at any time from your settings.
3. Growing information is general guidance
Every fact on SeedBattle comes from a published source, and each one is checked against that source before it goes live. Even so, results depend on your climate, soil, the seed variety and many other things, so we can’t promise any particular result. Check local conditions, such as your frost dates, before you plant.
Safety information, such as whether a plant is toxic to people or pets, is not medical or veterinary advice. If a person or an animal may have eaten something harmful, contact a poison control center, a doctor or a vet straight away.
If you find a mistake, please tell us. We’ll check it against the source and fix it.
4. Things you mustn’t do
- break the law, or help someone else break it
- harass, threaten or impersonate anyone
- post spam, malware, or links meant to deceive
- try to get around our security, access accounts or data that aren’t yours, or overload the site
- create accounts automatically, or copy large parts of the site with automated tools
5. What you add to SeedBattle
You keep ownership of anything you add, such as your profile text and photo. You give us permission to store it and show it on SeedBattle as needed to run the service. You confirm you have the right to share it. We may remove anything that breaks these terms.
When you post in the community:
- Post real photos of your own plants, garden or growing space, or photos you have the right to share.
- Be kind and helpful. No selling in posts.
- Public posts, comments and your profile can be seen by anyone. Private posts are visible only to you.
- Photos are checked automatically before others can see them, and may be held for a moderator. Anyone can report a post, comment or account, and moderators may hide content that breaks these terms.
5a. Battles
Battles are free growing competitions. Each Battle has its own rules, dates and judging criteria on its page, and by joining you agree to them. Entries must be public posts with real photos of your own plants. Judges rank entries against the published criteria; likes and “helpful” votes don’t decide the official result. We may disqualify entries that break the rules. A Battle only offers a prize if its page names one; otherwise winners get a badge on their profile and are featured on the homepage.
5b. AI credits and the assistant
- The AI assistant needs an account with a confirmed email address, and it uses credits.
- Every account gets 30 free credits each month. Unused free credits expire at the start of the next month.
- You can buy more credits as one-off packs, paid in cryptocurrency. There are no subscriptions and nothing renews automatically. Bought credits don’t expire.
- Credits have no cash value, can’t be transferred or exchanged, and aren’t refunded once bought, except where the law requires it. If an answer fails because of a problem on our side, the credits for it are returned automatically.
- Send the exact amount shown, on the network shown, before the quote expires. Payments sent to the wrong network or address, or far below the quoted amount, may not be recoverable. Late or partial payments are reviewed by hand.
- The assistant gives general gardening guidance based on SeedBattle’s pages. It can be wrong, so check important decisions, especially about plant safety for children and pets. Don’t use it to try to get around its limits or to get other people’s information.
6. Our content
The text and design of SeedBattle belong to SeedBattle. You’re welcome to quote short passages with a link back to the page. Please don’t copy whole pages or the catalog. Photos are used under their licenses, and credited on the page where a license asks for it.
7. Links to other sites
We link to other sites. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content.
8. Changes to the service
We may add, change or remove features, and we can’t promise the site will always be available or free of errors.
9. Responsibility
SeedBattle is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for indirect losses, such as a failed crop or lost time, that come from using the site. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that the law doesn’t allow to be limited, including your rights as a consumer.
If you have a problem with SeedBattle, please write to us first at hello@seedbattle.com. Most issues can be settled quickly that way. If we can’t settle it together, the courts and laws that apply are those that the law of your country of residence gives you, including any consumer protections there.
10. Changes to these terms
When we change these terms, we update the date at the top. If a change matters for account holders, we’ll email them before it takes effect. If you keep using SeedBattle after that, the new terms apply.
