Improve the chives page
Know a seed we haven't covered yet, or spotted something wrong on a seed page? Send it to our editors. Every suggestion is checked and reviewed by a person, and our editors verify every fact before anything changes on the site.

How it works
From your suggestion to the page
Nothing you send appears on the site until it has passed every step.
- 1
You send it
A new seed with a description, growing facts and photos, or a correction to one part of a seed page, ideally with a source.
- 2
An automatic check
An AI check looks for red flags such as spam, unsafe advice, advertising or personal details. It doesn't decide anything on its own.
- 3
An admin reviews it
One of our admins reads every suggestion and its check result, then accepts it or declines it with a short reason you can see.
- 4
Editors verify and publish
An accepted suggestion becomes a draft. Our editors research and check each fact before the page is published or changed.
Guidelines
What makes a good suggestion
Do
- Write in your own words; don't paste text from seed packets, catalogs or other websites.
- Add a source link for each fact: a seed company's growing guide, a university gardening page or a botanical database.
- Keep to one change per correction, so it can be checked quickly.
- Send photos you took yourself, of the plant or its seeds.
We can't accept
- Advertising, prices, shop links or discount codes
- Plants that are illegal to grow, or widely listed as invasive
- Advice that could harm people, pets or property
- Names, addresses, phone numbers or other personal details
Questions
Suggestions, answered
- Do I need an account?
- Yes, a free account with a confirmed email address. It lets us credit you and lets you follow your suggestion's status on your account page.
- Will my suggestion appear on the site right away?
- No. Every suggestion is checked automatically, then reviewed by an admin. Accepted ones become drafts that editors verify against sources before anything is published.
- How will I know what happened?
- Your account page lists your suggestions with their status: waiting, accepted or declined. If one is declined, you'll see the reason there.
- Are my photos shown publicly?
- No. Photos sent with a suggestion are only seen by our admins. Location and camera details are removed when you upload them, and they're deleted if the suggestion is declined.
- Is there a limit?
- Up to 10 suggestions a day per account, so our editors can give each one proper attention.
Not sure it's missing?
Search the encyclopedia first: the seed may be listed under another name.
